"The chief source of art is man's pleasure in his daily work, which expresses itself and is embodied in that art itself."

Current from the studio

We have been working... orders taken at Baltimore, prep for a show in May in Reston, VA and some time for a little experimental work. We are firing a bisque tonight but before we get too far into the firing part of the cycle, let me share some of the making with you.

For Baltimore

That tall piece you saw Steve throwing on an earlier post
We have finished making pieces for the ACC Baltimore show and are now glazing and firing but I did take some photos of works in process. Since we have been fortunate enough to exhibit at the ACC Baltimore show since 1998 in one venue or another (wholesale or retail or both), we do try to present new work for our galleries and/or our collectors. Some people, of course, have never seen us but others have and it is for them and our own creative spirit that we use the ACC Baltimore show as a debut for the year. Here are some photos of some of the special pieces before they go into the kiln.....

Winter Work

These short winter days have produced a bit of work. We are finishing the making and starting the glazing and firing part of the cycle. Our goal is the American Crafts Council show in Baltimore, MD at the convention center Feb. 20-24. The first couple of days we'll show wholesale samples to the trade for possible orders and the last three days we'll sell directly to the public. We also have a few orders waiting to be completed before we leave. Here are some photos to feast on:
